Coasters and puffy holder pattern coming soon!
Update on my crochet life and pattern information
Hi,
I hope you are doing well and taking time for yourself. That you take care of yourself and have a nice time. ❤️
I say this because sometimes I don't take enough care of myself. There is always something important to do. Recently I decided that I need to slow down a bit. I have planned some market-free weekends for the near future. Sometimes I didn't manage to make as many products as I wanted. Sometimes I put off certain things in favor of others and always felt that something had been neglected, I was constantly tired and the house was a mess... In March and April, I decided to focus on other things so that I could finally be satisfied with them. And find a little more time for myself - for a longer walk, book or a movie. Or to crochet slowly, sipping coffee and taking breaks to look out the window. 🤗
Yesterday you could see on my Instagram some photos of a puffy holder from my new crochet pattern.
I couldn't wait to show them! I have been receiving questions about this pattern regularly for two months. It was very cute! But preparing this pattern was very time-consuming for me and recording the videos was a big challenge. I recorded one of the videos 4 times before I decided I was satisfied. 😅 But now I'm glad that everything is ready and the pattern will be released this week!

This holder is made using 3mm beige cord from Bilibag factory
If you want to get ready for it now, look for the cord in the perfect color, etc. Look at the information below.
This pattern describes how to make coasters and a puffy holder using 3mm braided cotton cord. Shows in detail how to make a puff stitch in two ways (photo below). It also describes how to make baskets from 5mm cord using this pattern. And includes instructions for blocking the finished items.
The PDF file has 27 pages, over 100 photos illustrating individual steps. Standard US or UK Terms used.
Additional videos available (no cuts or speed-ups). One video shows in detail how to make a puff stitch, the rest shows how to make a set. In the pattern you will find annotations about specific parts of the videos relating to the steps.
This pattern will have different coasters than in my previous pattern - these will be slightly thicker and more complicated. But if you also have the previous pattern you can mix them - the diameter of the coasters is the same.

Puff stitch made in two ways - pink one is slightly different than beige one
SIZE (for items made of 3mm cotton cord, using a 7mm crochet hook):
The diameter of the finished coaster will be between 9.0cm and 10cm (3.5in-3.9in).
The diameter of the finished basket holder will be between 13,0cm and 15,0cm (5.1in-5.9in) and height will be between 6,5cm and 7,5cm (2.6in-3.0in).
The holder (made according to the pattern) can hold up to 6 coasters (if you lay them flat inside) or up to 8 (if you place them on their side). The pattern also shows what to change to fit 8 coasters flat.
VARIATIONS The fifth chapter of the pattern shows variations on the basket holder pattern using a 5 mm cord, sample dimensions:
- the basket made by following the steps like a coaster holder: approx. 9.0-10.0cm (3.5-3.9in) in height and 17.0-18.0cm (6.7-7.1in) in diameter,
- smaller basket: approx. 9.0-10.0cm (3.5-3.9in) in height and 13.0-15.0cm (5.1in-5.9in)) in diameter,
- higher basket: approx. 10.0-12.0cm (3.9-4.7in) in height and 17.0-18.0cm (6.7-7.1in) in diameter
The photo below shows the holder and various baskets:

The basket on the right is made using beige 5mm cord from Bilibag factory, baskets in the back made using their khaki cord
YOU WILL NEED:
3mm braided cotton cord
Crochet hook 7mm (or 6,5mm or 8mm)
*(or 5mm for bigger baskets + 9mm or 10mm crochet hook)
Sharp scissors
Plastic needle or smaller crochet hook e.g. 5 or 6mm (use one of these to weave in the ends)
And here I want to show you some photos from my amazing pattern testers 💗

I am often asked what cords I use and I recommend, so here is the reminder:
I most often use Bilibag factory cords - their warehouse is in the UK
This is the website of a UK bilibag cord seller: https://bilibagfactory.co.uk/
I also often use Bobbiny cords - they have warehouses in many countries, examples:
This is the website of a US bobbiny cord seller: https://bobbinycords.us/
This is the website of a UK bobbiny cord seller: https://bobbinycords.co.uk/
This is the website of a EU bobbiny cord seller https://shop.bobbiny.com/en/
*Also, check their Etsy shops.
You can also search for what is available in your area, e.g. on Amazon, by entering "braided cotton cord" or "macrame braided cord", etc. If they are described as 3 mm thick (or 5mm for baskets), they should not differ significantly. You will find these cords more often in the macramé materials category.
Psst! On the day of release, as my newsletter subscriber, you will again receive an email with a promo code 😉
If you want to ask me something, just reply to this email and I will be happy to answer. 😃
Have a great day!
