For a long time you have been regularly asking me about the pattern for the round placemat. Many people found it difficult to make one, and I completely understand that! 🙈 

My first attempts at creating a cord placemat were in February 2023, but there was always something wrong, something was missing. Finally, in November 2023, I tried to do something "against the rules" of crocheting, and I finally made a mat that was really good! 🤩 

You kept asking about the pattern, I knew that something that seems easy may not be so! In March 2024, I started trying various small changes to my mat formula, taking notes to notice how they could affect its final appearance. And finally I put it all together in a pattern.

Each of us works in a slightly different way, has different tension, which may result in differences in reproducing patterns - this is normal. In the pattern I describe problems that you may (but do not have to) encounter when making this type of mat and ways to solve them.

In the pattern I provide my ⭐️ magic formula ⭐️ for the perfect mat. And I will guide you in creating YOUR PERFECT MAT. You most likely won't need to change anything in my formula. But if so, I will explain everything to you in detail.

- The pattern will guide you through making a placemat with a diameter of approximately 27 cm or 32 cm or 37 cm and a thickness of approximately 0.8 - 1 cm.
- The pattern shows two ways of finishing the mat, describes the problems that may be encountered when making this type of mat and how to solve them and includes and a section on blocking the finished work.
- The PDF file has 17 pages, over 80 photos illustrating individual steps.

• In the UK, in Hobbycraft stores you can find "Return of the Mac" yarn - it will also work great in this pattern.

You can also search for what is available in your area, e.g. on Etsy, Amazon by entering "braided cotton cord" or "macrame braided cord", etc. If they are described as 3 mm thick they should not differ significantly. You will find these cords more often in the macramé materials category
