Transforming Yarn Leftovers into Wall Hanging Decor

Hi!

Today, I am excited to share a fantastic idea that not only brings beauty to your space but also helps you make the most out of your yarn leftovers! Recently I was looking for inspiration for an easy wall hanging that would fill one of the walls in my hallway. When I first saw something like this, I realized it would be a great way to use up leftover yarn lying around the house! ๐Ÿงถ

I wanted to share this idea with you because if you crochet, chances are you have some yarn leftovers at home that you're not sure what to do with. The best part? It's quick and super simple to make! ๐Ÿฅฐ

Here are photos of my work. When I looked into my bag of leftover yarn, the combination of these three colors immediately caught my attention!

Each of these yarns has a different thickness, making it challenging to use them for a crochet project. However, incorporating them into this wall art beautifully highlights the texture of each piece!

And here is a pinterest board with my inspirations. Click here to get inspired too!

So here we go!

  1. Gather Your Supplies: Raid your yarn stash and gather any leftover bits and bobs. You'll also need a wooden dowel or branch for hanging and scissors. (Also driftwood would be great. If you are near the sea or ocean, you are lucky!๐ŸŒŠ)

  2. Choose Your Design: Let your imagination run wild! Choose colors to match your interior or simply satisfy you! ๐ŸŽจ

  3. Start Crafting: Cut your yarns to the appropriate length. Then attach them to the dowel. Then experiment with knots or braids! ๐Ÿ’ƒ

  4. Add Embellishments: Don't hesitate to incorporate other materials like beads, or feathers to add texture and visual interest to your masterpiece.

  5. Finishing Touches: Once you're satisfied with your creation, trim any excess yarn and hang it proudly on your wall! ๐Ÿ’Ÿ

I'd love to see what you come up with! Share photos of your yarn scrap wall hangings on Instagram using #igacrochet for a chance to be featured and inspire others! ๐Ÿ˜Š

Crafting with yarn leftovers isn't just about reducing waste; it's also a wonderful opportunity to express yourself artistically and breathe new life into forgotten materials. So, the next time you find yourself with a handful of scraps, think of the beautiful wall hanging waiting to be born! ๐Ÿ’—

Happy crafting!
